The 12th Annual Awards Ceremony & Dialog Dinner
On Thurs Nov 8, 2018 the Atlantic Institute of Tennessee held our 12th Annual Awards Ceremony and Dialogue Dinner at the Nashville City Club. We proudly hosted friends, neighbors, and community leaders for an evening of conversation while we honored individuals and organizations doing outstanding intercultural work in the Nashville area.
The evening featured welcoming remarks from the Atlantic Institute's advisory board chair Dr. Ron Messier, remarks from Mr. Parvez Mohsin of Nashville International Center for Empowerment (NICE) on the importance of intercultural dialogue, and a keynote address from Dr. John Vile of Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU), titled "Immigration and Culture: The American Experience." We also hosted a performance by harpist Kell Coulter, who played an intercultural selection of music including Irish, German, Sephardic, Turkish, and Russian pieces.
We're thankful for an incredible group of award recipients and presenters at this year's event.
The Education Award was presented to Ms. Ellen Gilbert, Executive Director of the Global Education Center, presented by Atlantic Institute advisory board member Ms. Amanda Roche.
