Table of Abraham: The importance of prayer in the Abrahamic Traditions
Monday, April 13, 2015 - 6:00pm
The Episcopal Church of Nativity, 208 Eustis Avenue SE Huntsville, AL 35801
On April 13, 2015, the Atlantic Institute located in Huntsville, held a Table of Abraham program. The topic for the evening was "The Importance of Prayer". Our quest speakers were Rabbi Elizabeth Bahar, Temple B'nai Sholom, Dr. Daniel Crosby, Church of Latter-Day Saints and Imam Ragab Abdelmoneim, Huntsville Islamic Center. The importance of prayer across the three Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity and Islam) was explored during this interfaith dialogue. Prayer is the vehicle for daily dialog with the One who created us. He calls us to share life's triumphs, struggles and concerns with him on a daily basis. The evening had a wonderful atmosphere of respect and understanding as each tradition shared the importance of daily prayer and how each day should be lived humbly and with a reverence reserved for the God we love and serve.
