We hope you will use this time to meet women from different cultures, learn about their lives and share your own. In addition to networking, we are asking you to make this day more meaningful by supporting women and children in Turkey who have been incarcerated through your generous donations.
Around the world, women face incredible challenges to their safety and human rights. Currently, more than 17,000 women from all walks of life including teachers, doctors, and housewives have been jailed in Turkey on coup charges in government-led operations in the aftermath of the failed coup attempt on July 15, 2016. There are currently more than 700 children accompanying their mothers in Turkish prisons.
Let’s add Women’s International Day more meaning. You can donate whatever you can afford to help those women and their children in Turkish prisons. Your gift today will go where it will make the biggest difference in their lives. Thank you. If you choose not to donate financially at this time, your presence at our event will be sufficient.
