Taste of the World Cooking Class
Tastes of the World Cooking Class
In partnership with Istanbul Cultural Center, Atlantic Institute is promoting another wonderful intercultural event.
Come and join us for a great cooking and eating experience. Cooking and eating together will spice up your life with food and friendship.
Tastes of the World Cooking Class is the continuation of 10 years of deliciously, successful Turkish cooking classes held in Central Florida. Now volunteers and instructors of this group have expanded their Mediterranean Cuisine to additional flavors of the world.
The purpose of this program is to learn and experience dishes from around the world and motivate individuals and community groups to engage in dialogue while at the same time having fun. Cooking and eating together is a wonderful way to promote interaction and friendship between people regardless of faith or culture and connect new friends.
At this special session of our cooking class, we will prepare Noah`s Pudding. Traditionally at this time of year we make a special pudding, called Noah’s Pudding, and share it with our neighbors. It symbolizes the food that Prophet Noah made at the end of the Great Flood.
The "Noah's Pudding" celebrates the common tradition of Judaism, Christianity and Islam. To celebrate the landing of Noah's Ark, every year volunteers prepares a sweet dish called "Noah's Pudding" aka Ashure. In the Muslim prophetic tradition, the day Moses and his community were saved from the Pharaoh's army, and the day Noah's ark was saved from the flood is celebrated with fasting and in modern times with the sharing of Noah's Pudding known as Ashure.
Tastes of the World Cooking Class will meet every second Saturday between 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm. However, the first session will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at 940 S. Winter Park Drive, Cassellberry, FL, 32707. The following session will be held on November 11, 2017.
