WHO WE ARE
The Atlantic Institute, established in 2012, is an independent, non-profit organization headquarted in Atlanta, GA whose goal is to facilitate dialogue and bridge cultures from both sides of the Atlantic. In order to reach a more understanding and accepting coexistence of cultures, we believe it is necessary to embrace diversity and build tolerance. We want to foster awareness for differing beliefs, traditions, and opinions. Through our branches in Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Tennessee and South Carolina, we are dedicated to building cross-cultural and interfaith dialog for a more inclusive society. Tampa Bay branch of the Atlantic Institute acts as a derivative of the Istanbul Cultural Center at Tampa Bay and has taken over Istanbul Cultural Center at Tampa Bay’s all dialogue related programs since 2012.
We are an academic and educational organization that strives to provide opportunities to increase understanding and awareness of the vast and diverse cultures. We are inspired by the teachings and guidance of many scholars, such as the poet Rumi, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and M. Fethullah Gulen, who emphasize the importance of education, dialogue and understanding in an effort to create a world in which tolerance and acceptance of differing cultures prevail.
We believe, even in this digital era, that direct interaction and dialogue are still the best way to build mutual understanding, trust and harmony among people. We accomplish our goals through several instructive programs that bring people from various ethnic and religious backgrounds together in order to proactively contribute to solving educational, cultural, social and humanitarian issues within our community.
