Let's Talk Turkey: Refugees, ISIS and State Collapse in the Middle East
Wednesday, October 15, 2014 - 12:00pm
Morehouse College, Wheeler Hall, Room 214-F
Dr. Isa Afacan
Dr. Isa Afacan spoke on the phenomenon of state collapse in the Middle East in the aftermath of the Arab Spring. As Syria descended into a civil war, and Iraq is experiencing serious chaos in governance and lost control of significant parts of its territory, sub-state and trans-state actors are filling the power vacuum and creating substantial problems for the region and the globe. Students of Morehouse College gathered and discussed these issues with the international affairs professor.
Dr, Afacan is an assistant professor of International Relations at Turgut Ozal University in Ankara, Turkey. He earned his PhD from Florida International University in Miami, FL.
This event was free and open to the public. No registration necessary.
